Using Kurves Color Correction

You can show (or hide) SynthEyes’s curve-based color correction with the Kurve Corrector button on the Color panel; it is shown by default.

Tip: You can adjust the proportion of the image preprocessor occupied by the image view and kurves view by dragging the line between the two.

Kurves allows you to create splines to modify the R, G, and B channels, and the overall resulting luminance. An “S” saturation curve allows you to modify saturation based on luminance, ie to reduce saturation in shadows or improperly clipped highlights.

The general principles should be familiar from other software; we won’t cover color grading here. For details of operating Kurves, see the Kurves reference material.
