Multiple Hold Sections

The Hold button can be animated on and off in any pattern: off-on-off as above; off-on, a shot with a final panning section; on-off, a shot with an initial panning section followed by a translation; on-off-on, a pan at each end of a dolly; off-on-off-on, a translation, a pan, another translation, and a final pan; etc. There is no requirement on what happens during each pan or each translate, they can all be different. In effect, you are describing a path with beads in it, where each bead is a panning “hold” section.

However, the Hold processing system is not able to solve hold sequences that include two or more non-tripod sections that do not have trackers in common, because that would require coordinate systems to be described somehow for each section. Use separate phases to solve each section, and the Splice Paths Phase to combine them. A final phase may be able to optimize the complete path, if the trackers have been carefully locked in each section.
