Community Translation Project

SynthEyes has an additional localization system intended to allow users to create human-translated files for the main SynthEyes user interface: for the menus and for the dialog text (buttons, checkboxes, etc). Each translation is contained in an XML file, initially produced by SynthEyes, that can be edited by users in a text editor (Notepad, TextEdit, vim, emacs, etc) or XML Editor such as XML Notepad 2007. It is our thought and hope that users might want to create and share these XML files for the benefit of their countrymen and -women.

Note: This is an older subsystem that pre-dates the Tooltip Translation system. It was designed to facilitate higher-quality human translations, but the that didn’t happen and we’ve introduced the machine-translation-ready tooltip translation system instead. The Community Translation capability is still available in the System area of the preferences.

There may be some rough spots in this process due to limited multilingual experience, apologies!
