Modifies a zoom shot so that the field of view track has a "flat" section where the value is the same, with blends in and out for smooth transitions. This can be used when a zoom shot has one or more sections where the zoom is stationary, though the exact FOV isn't necessarily known.
The begin/end frames give the beginning and end of the section where the zoom is still.
The FOV is averaged over that range of frames to find the stationary FOV value—unless the Automatic checkbox is off, in which case the phase's Manual FOV value is used (if you already have one you want used).
The FOV is blended in and out over the number of frames specified at the beginning/end of the flatten frame range. These blend regions are INSIDE the blend frame range. You should keep the blend frame count at zero if the flatten frame range extends to the beginning or end of the shot—otherwise you will see a few noisier frames at the beginning or end.
If you have additional solve phases after a Flatten FOV (recommended), notice that those phases will "optimize away" the flattening this phase performs. To prevent that, you should create additional phases between the flatten and the solve to either set the lens mode to Known, or to create FOV-channel locks.
