Alignment Plan B

As an alternate approach to positioning fully rigged meshes, you might add a collection of temporary trackers: trackers whose seed point has been placed on the mesh, and that have been positioned in the image only on a single frame.

The result of that setup is basically equivalent to the pinning tool, but without the ability to determine field of view or individual mesh axis scalings, or move the camera.

The primary advantage of such a setup is that it can determine exact initial lock values for child objects. Once they are determined, the frame should be made a Key, keying each of the joint axes. Then the temporary trackers can be removed.
