Andersson Technologies LLC has made an Intel-Mac demonstration version of its SynthEyes 2006.5 3-D tracking application generally available for testing. A full version is available on request for testing by existing customers.
SynthEyes offers a complete high-end feature set, including camera tracking, motion capture, object building, object tracking, camera+object tracking, multiple-shot tracking, tripod (nodal) tracking, zooms, lens distortion, light solving, RAM playback, image preprocessing, rotoscoped object separation and more. SynthEyes exports to around 25 common animation and compositing packages; scripting lets you customize the standard exports, or add your own imports, exports, or tools.
In addition to the forthcoming Intel-Mac version, SynthEyes runs under Mac OS X 10.3 or later on G5 and G4 processors. SynthEyes runs on Intel and AMD processors under Windows, with a native 64-bit version for Windows XP Pro 64.
Details of SynthEyes upgrades and pricing for the Intel Mac platform will be announced with the final release.
SynthEyes was originally created, developed, and marketed by Dr. Russell Andersson at Andersson Technologies LLC, solving the toughest problems for visual effects professionals for 20 years, with customers in about 100 countries.
In August 2023, SynthEyes was acquired by Boris FX, Inc., under whose auspices it is now being developed and marketed.
