	    <title>SynthEyes 2008 Masters 8-Core Machines, Makes Tracks for Siggraph</title>
	    <link>http://www.ssontech.com/press/press080808.htm</link>
	    <description>
SynthEyes 2008's latest '.08' release tackles 8's and comes up a winner. This release concentrates on a sweeping set of optimizations for current 8-core machines such as Apple's Mac Pro. Much like a conversation among 2 or 3 people escalates to a loud din in a crowded conference room, 8-core processors pose challenges for efficient utilization. The newly optimized SynthEyes eliminates program and operating system bottlenecks for outstanding performance, some 3-5 times faster than the previous multithreaded version on the same 8-core hardware.
SynthEyes has also gained exporters for Apple's Motion 3 and Luxology's Modo.

Both Sassoon Film Design and Digital Dimension relied on SynthEyes. As Digital Dimension’s Camera Tracking TD, Travis Yohnke, points out, "Obviously under the IMAX stereoscopic format, tracking accuracy needs to be flawless. <description>The SynthEyes 3-D tracking software was used to produce the talking animals of the family-oriented feature "Racing Stripes." Four different visual effects studios were involved: Digiscope, Digital Dimension, Peerless Camera, and PRPVFX. To achieve chatty animals, the film combined live-action shots of trained animals with computer-generated animated mouths, each precisely tracked in 3-D to the live-action head. <title>Shake and Mac/VPC Compatibility for SynthEyes Camera Tracker.</title>
	    <link>http://www.ssontech.com/press/press102604.htm</link>
	    <description>Andersson Technologies LLC is pleased to announce the availability of three Shake export scripts for its SynthEyes 3-D camera tracking application, plus Virtual PC (VPC7) compatibility. The scripts can be run on SynthEyes on a PC or Mac to produce scripts for Apple's Shake compositing application, running on a Mac or Linux...The Shake MatchMove exporter translates planes, created in SynthEyes, to Shake as MatchMove nodes, allowing image layers to be inserted at arbitrary 3-D locations within the source shot. Any number of image planes can be exported at once, allowing complex 3-D scenes to be generated that maintain the correct 3-D interrelationships... SynthEyes has now been tested and adjusted slightly to run with Microsoft's recently-released Virtual PC 7 application on Macintosh OS X machines, including Mac G5s. Due to SynthEyes's high native performance, Virtual PC offers a reasonable experience on the Mac under VPC, especially for new and occasional users attracted by SynthEyes' excellent feature set and affordable price...</description>
