Hi all! I'll be shooting some RED tests with my DP friend on Monday, working with Final Cut Pro eventually and transcoding to ProRes HQ. I was wondering:
1. Can I transcode to ProRes HQ and then do my work in SynthEyes, or will this mess with the SynthEyes process?

2. What should I use as the Film Back setting for the RED? (Build 17.)

3. If I'm going to end up on DVD anyway, is there any point to trying to work with the 4K frames in SynthEyes at all?

Thanks!
Biagio

1. It's all about the picture. ProRes isn't going to hurt it.
2. Excellent question. An answer is NOT required, however --- let SynthEyes compute the lens FOV by itself.
3. For SD output, 4K seems vast overkill. You could surely drop to 2K and save a lot of time and disk.
