When I was toying with Icarus a few years ago, it had a facility called "motion filtering", where you could mask out a moving object (or a static object on a free motion shot) and replace it with whatever is "behind" the object.
To be honest, I never got any decent results with it.
Has anyone come up with a technique for doing the same in SynthEyes? I'm considering a shot showing what the town centre would look like with one of its features (a clock tower) missing. |

| Sounds like a fantastic feature to have, but can't see how it would be done. Will watch this thread to see an answer as this would be excellent for wire/rig removal I would guess. |

Sorry for bumping an old post.
Motion filtering is just creating a clean plate which is much quicker and easier to do in Shake or many other composting programs. Anyway that is why it works best when used on pan tilt shots. Planar tracking is also a good option. |

| But God help you if it's a 3d track and it's not on a plane... |

The dividing line between the invocation of the Supreme Being and Additional Days of Shooting is very thin. |
