I am considering purchasing Syntheyes and downoaded the demo and the sample Lightwave scene file.
I loaded the scene file that I downloaded into lightwave and it slips quite a bit.
You would think that this would be the best foot foreward type situation but somthing is not right.
Can somone give me some insight on this |

RMS error on that scene is under 0.25 pixels. Using any camera tracking software, objects must be placed precisely in 3-D, or they appear to slip --- they are really either floating in the air, or underground. That's why using the existing trackers to precisely place new objects is essential, sometimes with a little nudging when there is nothing tracked right there.

I parented an object to one of the trackers and still get slippage. These are full renders and not previews.
I will try to get in contact with phone support.
This is for 3 upcoming projects.
Thanks

In fact the problem is very simple and is a comon mistake I did a few times while I was a beginner as a matchmover. Now it's the first thing I check after doing an export.
The keyframes of the camera just start at frame 0 but the video background starts at frame 1. So there is a 1 frame offset.
You can fix it in the graph editor by offsetting by a +1 value the camera's keyframes.
(I tryed to offset the starting frame of the sequence in the image editor but it doesn't seem to work really well...)
Hope it helped! |

That did it, Thanks FLGB!!
Maybe ssontech should consider adding a tech note on this.
I will continue evaluating it to see if it fits our needs.
Thanks,

| In preferences, you can specify whether the first frame falls on one or zero. It's all in the documentation... |

Actually there's this setting in Lightwave, on the Windows/Compositing panel, labeled Synchronize Image to Frame which gives you options of zero or one. It's not really documented in LW, but surprisingly it turns out to be a preferences-type of setting that is not saved in the Lightwave scene, but is remembered from run to run of Lightwave. When set to one, it offsets image sequences one frame later.
SynthEyes assumes and requires that this setting be ZERO(0). Once you set it once, everything will stay synced forever more... as far as I can tell. |
