Hi gang,
I'm a Carrara user, and with the recent release of Carrara 5 Pro, Eovia was kind enough to add in support for SynthEyes.
Any other Carrara users out there using SE? I have the SE demo, going through the tuts, so far so good.
I have one quick noob question for today as well: how can I change the window / background color from white to a darker grey? I have a hard time with white. I found a SE tutorial on Creative Cow and the UI was a nice deep grey.
Thanks -
BTW - your added support for Carrara is what sold me on the app. My plan is to purchase the full version asap. |

Yeah, a bunch of people have been getting on me about this. It's what I get for letting the UI design wizards at Microsoft and Apple (both!) go unchallenged. I'm guessing the tutorial colors you saw were achieved by the paint-bucket tool, off hand --- if there's a way to do it, I'd be entertained to hear. The Windows appearance manager doesn't appear to let you change the main dialog color, not sure why, though you can change a bunch of other stuff. Apple seems to feel they've made the correct choices for everyone already, so there's no need for an appearance manager.
I may take a look to see how to override them both in due time. |

Thanks for your reply Russ - sounds good.
I'm a Mac user - since I noticed the grey window frame in Win screenshots, I just assumed it was a SE Win-only feature. AE 6.5 has a really nice "slider" for their UI, that lets the user choose anywhere from white to dark-dark grey - I love it.
SE is great so far, my only wish for the demo is to allow for exports, even if it included a big 'ole watermark, or frame limitation perhaps. The thing also like about it is the range of export formats you offer (especially for Carrara!). I can also use it with C4D, pIllusion, and AE. |
