|
|
Do I need to do the porcupine setup to calibrate the cameras for a Face Mocap Track? Is there a other way?
I did not setup anything when I recorded a footage from 2 cameras to do a Face Track. I was wondering if there was another way or an option to do the camera calibration. Or perhaps there's a way that I don't need to do a camera calibration and just track the face markers straight forward and do the other steps. |

Hi Guray,
you have to calibrate the cameras in any case. What you could try to
do is to use only markers on the face that seems not to move within
a range of frames. For example when the head is just rotating without
much much musle movement (e.g. points on the forehead, teeth, etc.). You probably don't need hundrets of frames to do that.
I always use a sheet of paper with printed points and crosses on it and
move and rotate it a little tilted in front of all cameras.

Bummer...I was hoping there might be a way around the initial camera calibration. IF I remember correctly in PFtrack it seemed more straight forward. Oh well..Perhaps I'll re-shoot everything all over..with the porcupine of course..
Thanks borgus |

| I might be a bit late on this one, but what type of motion capture are you trying to capture? I.e. facial AND object track? and for what pipeline? |
