Ok I'm sure this is a very simple thing but I'm trying to export a tracked shot into maya 2012 (Mac). I created a mesh plane in the scene. when I import that into maya I get an error. Node type 'polyPlane' is not a DAG node; ignoring parenting information. Alright that is the first part...
The second part is that no mater what tip of mesh I create in syntheses no mesh will show up in maya... any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

yep, the exporter only exports the camera and markers. you have to
export all meshes separately with export->Mesh as A/W .obj
or export->Meshes in Scene as .obj .
You'll have locators in your maya scenen showing you where the objects sopposed to be.
This questions has been asked serveral times before, please check
the search function of the forum. Smile

cheers, Seb
