I have a plate that's 70 frames long that I have done a supervised track and solve on. I now need to run an auto-track on separate bits of the sequence, say frames 1-12, 13-28, 29-40, etc. I need to keep (within reason) the single solved camera that I already have, but include a LOT more points for the separate frame ranges.
How can I do this? |

Nevermind. I should have looked a little deeper before posting this.
"Blips Frame Range"... huh, wonder what that does |

You can do this by using the feature control panel to do the stages individually. You might consider whether you want some overlap between the ranges.
The process runs as follows, starting from your supervised-solved scene:
Go to the Feature Panel
Hit Clear All Blips
Adjust the green/red playback range markers to the desired 1st range
Hit "Blips Playback Range"
Hit "Peel All"
Hit control/command-A
Hit "To Golden"
Go back to "Clear All Blips" and repeat the process as needed.
Not quite sure why you'd want to do this (possibly an open-water track?) but this will do the job. You can adjust the Maximum Tracker Count on the Advanced popup to control the number of trackers created per stage. |

The "plate" I'm dealing with is made up of 35 stills, each shown twice. Each group of 5 or 6 frames are from basically the same position, with just a bit of movement in them, and then it snaps to the next position. It's like your tutorial with the torches, but with several hand-held stills at each position.
The supervised tracking and on it is really straightforward, but the auto-tracking confuses the points when the jumps in location happen. That's why I need to do the separate frame ranges - the camera is solved already, but I need to add a few thousand points for the test we're doing, and this was the best method I could come up with. |
