Just a question..

Does adjusting the overall scene levels (high, mid, low, gamma) in the Image preparation setup change the way Syntheyes "sees" what it is looking at? Or is this just a visual thing for me to be able to see the footage more clearly?

Also for the individual tracker brightness / gain monitor window control. Same here? Is it to help Syntheyes see what it's looking at, or is it just for me visually?

Yes, whatever is done to the footage in the image pre-processor does affect how syntheyes treats the footage.

The tracker window brightness/contrast on the other hand... I think that's just for our convenience.

It might just be me, but I've noticed that when the tracker window is 'blown-out', to the point that I can't see anything, Syntheyes doesn't seem to track as well. When I change the values to where you start to get detail again, Syntheyes starts to track better (again). This makes me wonder if your statement is accurate...

Why would you be using the tracker window if it was blown out? Confused

The shot in question had a lot of very bright lights that were animating on and off. So, it wasn't that I was using the tracker window when it was blown out, but more that it would change from being at a usable level to being unusable, depending on the frame. If I didn't change the values in the tracker window every time this happened, I would get a blown-out frame in the tracker window. This is how I even had the opportunity to make the observation that I stated earlier. Hope this answers your question.

Ah I see. Well it was just a guess on my part, but I've never run into that problem before.
