Dear All,

I captured a with my handy cam my room and also I made a spider walk cycle in 3dsmax, now I want to make my spider walking in my room's carpet. I made auto track then I choose the trackers to make them stay on the floor then export as max script run the maxscript and allign to one of the three points in max, when I play it I saw my camera was moving faster than my spider I dont oknow why, can it be the FPS think, for example if my 3dsmax animation is 25 fps does it have to be everthing 25 fps also my reel footage, or is there anything else to make

thanks

peter

If i understand you right, it is important to keep a consistent frame rate. So make sur syntheses is set to the right frame rate of your footage, then in max make sure your scene is at this frame rate too.

The frame rate in syntheyes doesn't matter at all. It goes by frames, not time.

What do you mean the camera was moving faster than the spider? Do you mean it was sliding along the ground? Confused

the 3 point system:
- first point you click becomes origin
- second point is on the x axis
- third point is on the xy plane

the other thıng is my 3d anımatıon is 400 frames but when I captured my real footage ıt was 1050 frames. So do I have to cut and make it 400 frames like in 3dsmax.

Thanks

Peter

This is all a little confusing Peter. You say your footage is 1050 but your max scene is 400. Do you mean that you only want to use 400 frames? In which case you should only be solving those 400 frames in Syntheyes. Use the edit shot to start and finish at the frames you want. If you mean you solved a 1050 frame shot and exported it into Mac and it is only 400 frames, then you've messed something up big time. Is your footage progressive or interlaced? Are you using the correct settings for the shot?

If you can clarify some of this it might help?

ok let me explain from the begining. I made a 3dsmax spider ıt is a walkcycle ıt is 400 frames. Then I took my handy camera and started to capture my room, walkıng slowly ın my room as how I want to capture and move, then I ımported my scene under after effects because ıt saved as MPG so I mage TGA sequence from my footage and then I opened the fırst fıle ın sysntehyes and ıt showed me 1050 frames so do I have to cut where my 3d anımatıon stops ın 400

So to clarify you have 1050 still frames that make up a sequence. So what you do is you use the 400 you want to. When you import the shot you use the start and finish frames as you want. Then when you export your scene from Syntheyes, it will be 400 frames. Might help people also if you post a copy of your clip (or the 400 frames you want) here so that people can see what you're dealing with. Even if its a lower res version. What kind of solve are you getting? what's the hpix error score?

thanks for your help

so my 3d anim is 25 fps when I open my sequence in sysntehyes I will have to make 25 and start from 0 to 400 then make auto tracking
the eror is not high it is 0.5 something then If I make the origin lock and x and xy and export the script under 3dsmax, I hope the camere wont move faster than my spider and wont slide

thanks peter

And you're certain you FILMED it at 25fps?

It'd probably help us a lot if you could post up some screenshots or a vid or something.

I'm still unclear on what you mean by the camera moving faster than the spider... you're trying to track along with it?

What I always do to make sure there's no sliding is I place an object on the ground in syntheyes, go into the camera view, and use "pan to follow 3d" with a 3d point selected. It'll center the camera on the point. If the camera is shaky, this makes it much easier to see any sliding.
