I am currently working on a project where I am tracking a box. The shot is of two kids pushing a giant box up onto its side. The camera is static and the box is not translating, it is only rotating. I object tracked it and this seemed to work accept for the fact that the box is translating too. It is only supposed to rotate. Is there any way I can disable translating?

Thanks
Alex

It's translating because your object center is nowhere near the pivot point of the rotation.

I changed what looks to be the object pivot and alligned it to the box. I am still getting a translation though after the solve. It is an improvement but is still translating. Is there a certain way to change the center point or pivot point of one of the primitive boxes in syntheyes? or would it be better just to import an obj with the correct pivot point already?

Wait... is the box itself moving correctly and it's just an issue of the pivot point being bad? I don't even bother with getting the pivot points right in syntheyes, I just export to my 3d package, add an empty object at the correct pivot point, and parent the box to it... if I need to move it that is...

It is not an issue with the pivot. I am getting a translation and a rotation of the box after the solve, when all I should be getting is a rotation. In the camera view it appears fine but the other viewports show a clear translation of the box when it shouldn't be translating at all

Do you have enough trackers? In tge still in this thread there only looks to be 5. My assumption would be that it's not enough good, well locked trackers.
