|
|
Hello,
I'm trying to find a way to clean this tracking http://www.nelsig.ch/cropIMD_track06_terrainOKweb/cropIMD_track06_terrainOKweb.mov
I tracked this in automatic mode, then removed all tracking point on moving character and mechanical pieces and then used a photogrametry model of my set in final position to seed some points to help the tracking.Between each step I solved the shot and it beacames better and better, but now I'm blocked... The result is quite good, but unusable as I want to put grass on the ground, and there are still low vibrations on the CG ground...
Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated ! |

Well it seems you've got a fairly smooth camera move there, have you tried using the "fine tune trackers" feature? It will slightly adjust your auto tracks to be more accurate.
If it's just a little bit of noise in the final product, try using the image stabilization in the image preparation. You don't have to use it to stabilize the IMAGE, you could just slightly stabilize the camera path (use "filter" mode on both translation and rotation, and play around with the cut frequency) then go to the output tab and click "apply to trackers".
I'd recommend maybe 10 for the cutoff frequency to start off, then see how it goes.
WARNING WARNING WARNING!!!! After you've clicked "apply to trackers", if you're not satisfied with the result and want to change the frequency again, be ABSOLUTELY SURE you click "Remove f/ trackers" BEFORE you change the frequency. Otherwise you'll be adding the new stabilized 2d offsets back onto the trackers that are already offset by a different amount. You have to remove the offset first before you can add more onto it. Oh and click "apply to trackers" only ONCE. I once clicked it twice because I wasn't sure if it took or not.
EDIT: Wait a second... it looks like you've already stabilized it with the filter a LOT... hmm... Well if it's still shaky then try the fine tune trackers, and if that doesn't do it, well you're going to need to put down more trackers then. |

I agree that looks great. I think all you need to do is try shift+c (clean trackers) and remove bad frames from your tracks. I like to open up the graph editor before I press shift+c, so that when I change the threshold I can see how many frames it will remove in the graph editor. Just make sure you click "show" next to "bad frames" so it shows in the graph editor. Also, uncheck the rest of the options before you confirm so that it doesn't delete whole tracks.
Hope that helps.
