I was thinking about this scenario where you have 3 solved cameras with calibrated positions. I may be too tired / stupid at this hour (it's very late) to work on how to extract a single object solve using the 3 camera setup.
I know Syntheyes uses one camera per object but is there a way to solve a global/single object? |

in SE there is no official way how to solve one rigid object motion from multiple synced cams yet
but you can cheat it somehow
or use new stereo tools in 2008+1 (but only for two cams)
good luck |

I'm trying to do this too. I use two cameras running at 1080p 60fps as dedicated tracking cameras, and then a third camera for shooting the end product/plate. I get great results treating it like a mocap shot, but I think it would be dead perfect if I could let syntheyes solve it as a rigid object, ideally using something like "seed points" mode to track a mesh.
Has anyone done this or have some insight into how to make it happen? |

yeah as I said you can cheat SynthEyes stereo capabilities to solve a rigid object for you from two cameras, even if they are not stereo camera at all. But there are many many limitations and you can use only two cameras
Totally, introducing solving for rigid object from multiple cams would be really really great! |

| Thanks for the reply. How, specifically, do you cheat it? I've tried many times to do a stereo object track, but never get close to the accuracy I get from "individual mocap". If I could just combine the two... |
