I have a few questions, moreso about Max. if anyone cares to help would be great.
Using HDRI textures is tough as I have to have the environment set as the HDRI map and therefore can't have the actual video plate as such. Any advice? I've not searched the forum yet.
Also, a total max question..
What are the general sort of deflectors that would be used in a scene like this? Essentially I'm aiming towards creating a series of shots of a girl floating above the ground, in the rain. I want certain shots to show the rain particles in extreme close up, hitting the girls hands, spawning etc.. and bouncing down to the ground. I am guessing if I made a mesh of the girl and and use the mesh as the deflector.. that'd work but that's quite a big job.
With this I very very roughly positioned standard rectangular deflectors on the table plane and used the bend modifier to wrap around the cup etc. It was just a one attempt and I can obviously see that they weren't positioned quite right but the concept works, the track is great and now I want to have more control, film a wider shot and have the particles fall on to the floor properly but if I was to deflect off of a body these standard deflectors would be really awkward to get right.
I also can't understand why the particles dissapear when they roll off the edge of the plane/deflector?
In the light settings I was using a standard skylight with the environment set as light colour. Couldn't do what I wanted with HDR.
And I filmed it in deliberately low light/home movie condititions as we're aiming for a lo-fi home video feel instead of slick glossy big budget look.
I know none of this related to Synth Eyes but thought I'd ask just in case.
