|
|
Here is Test Greenscreenfootage from a VFX Tutorial - i am not able to track this with AUTO in good results. I do before some rotowork (the fan, etc.)
1280x1080, 720p, 60fps, Rosco DigiComp paint, Sharpness -7, Cine-Like Matrix
---> Download TEST Footage - 301 MB, ZIP
How to do this with SE - set all Markers manual ?
Perhaps use this good footage for a new Videotutorial to show many things in SE
Thanks |

Hi,
Well.. its allways a good idea to track manual to get a solid matchmove. But in this case you will have difficultys solving this shot anyways. I dont know what kind of camera and lens you used here but the distortion is horrible. Its almost a fisheye lens. Try to turn off markers that are close to edges of the image and focus on the center. Try to find markers that are visible during the whole shot and and track some one these pink post-its. Use the distortion check lines or turn on "calculate distortion". You might wanna try to solve this as zooming camera. But make sure you have 10 to 15 trackers visible at all time.
Good luck^^

Hi,
I had some time today and having just watched Russ' tutorials on lens distortion I thought I'd have a quick go.
In Syntheyes I animated a rough roto shape around the girl.
Used auto tracking.
Ticked the calculate distortion box in lens panel.
Solved again.
Set up coords to give me the floor.
Exported Lightwave scene.
Saved the distorted images out.
Set up a quick scene using the lightwave file in C4D and rendered it out.
Took the distoted footage and render into AE.
Did a quick garbage matte around the girl(couldn't be bothered to really be accurate so you see when the gun cross the lights in ceiling)
Keyed her quickly with keylight.(I blame the wachoski brothers for making keying difficult what with all that shiny black latex !)
Output the comp.
Took the comp back into SE to redistort the comp(see the tutorial)
Exported the redistorted comp out of SE. Done. Total time less than an hour.(a testament to syntheyes not to my skill)
I even forgot to set the initial images to 16:9 so was working 4:3 right to the end. The horizon flickering is bad MIP mapping of the floor texture - nothing to do with syntheyes/AE.

Okay, thanks for the hints. The result from Steve looks very well - i will try this similar
This is not MY footage - it is the ISSUE for the training video "VFX for Directors", also the fan, the small Studio stage and the lens distortion
Here you find a sample clip from the DVDs for matchmoving on a green screen (the 2nd from top):--> "HOW TO PLACE TRACKING MARKERS"
This is an other very nice footage from the democlip - no helicoptershot but Object Tracking and replacemant a gun -
perhaps for a videotutorial will be nice: --> 412 MB, 1280x1080, Main shot with marker
Thanks R. |

Hi Guys,
Per Holmes here. Great that you're playing with the plates. One quick note is that distortion is not usually an issue, but I must admit that I'm a Matchmover guy, and I haven't spent much time with SynthEyes, not that I doubt the software. But I've never really found anything but severe fisheye to be a problem, and the "embassy" shot above solves for me in a single mouse-click in Matchmover, provided that the moving objects are matted out, naturally. Are you sure you have the aspect right? The pixel aspect is 1.5:1, and if that's set up wrong, it'll surely destroy any solve.
Best,
Per |
