I have a green screen sound stage and was going to set up a marker system. With Syntheyes, is it better to use brighter green markers or darker green markers. Some systems see brighter better.

Thank you,
CJ

Syntheyes can be set to use either one. In supervised tracking there are 4 different settings for the tracking type: by color, dark spot, light spot, symmetrical (???).

Personally, I've always just used the color one and it's worked fine for me, but on the other hand, I've never done any green screen/sound stage type of shooting. Just cheap stuff around my house.

Thanks for that.

Could you tell me where to find those settings?

It's the left most button underneath the magnified viewing window in the tracking panel.

When tracking green markers on a green screen, it can be very useful to experiment with the "Hi-pass" (and "blur") values, found on the "Rez" tab in "Image preperation setup".

Russ once told me that it's better to adjust these values and use the default tracking type "Color", than to use "dark spot"/"light spot" types.
