|
|
I've been doing a lot of manual tracking on a series of shots over the past few weeks and I'm starting to develop a bit of Carpal Tunnel Sydrome as result of having to click and drag in the tracking viewer or click and drag in the main window.
My request is this. Can we get a tool that doesn't create a new tracker, but just puts the currently selected tracker at the location under the mouse. You have no idea how much this would help.
Please, oh please, oh please. |

| Are you saying a keystroke that does this without a mouse press? I'm not quite sure what workflow you have in mind. |

| i guess the request is to modify the actual behaviour of the current tracker from having to click and drag to a new area to just click to that area without having to click on the tracker first and dragging it to the new location of by using the tracker window. i admit it's not an easy job to hand track in syntheyes even with a tablet. i found that the fastest way to hand track a shot is to use the small tracker window. i could focus on it and press left and right and just move the tracker to a new position. |

along those same lines, i'd like to see a tracker keep it's last screen positon once it's turned back on.
for example if i'm tracking a pixel and its in the upper right hand part of the screen and i turn it off because it's going behind something. when i turn it back on it's location is in the center of the image, not up in the right hand corner where i need it. i do uderstand the tracker will need to be adjusted, however this enhancement would get 90% of the way there.
just some feedback for a future version. |

The current workflow is to:
Step 1) Click/hold and drag your first point.
Step 2) Move to the next frame.
Step 3) Find the tracker as it is "predicted" location. (if you are zoomed in, zoom out and find it)
Step 4) There are two possibilities here.
a) click, HOLD and drag to the location, (zoom back in if necessary)
b) click in the tracker zoom window and HOLD and drag to the correct location.
It's the amount of HOLD that the user is doing in either of the last step that is the RSI inducing action.
There needs to be a mode similar to Step 1 for placing trackers on other frames. |

| I second this request....it would be nice to have something similar to locking your selection in 3ds MAX. |

| The 2006 edition already has z-drop to address this. |

I was thinking.. what if we had a mode that set up a grid of pictures. The x axis would be for each frame of the movie, while the y axis is different trackers.
This way we could fix multiple trackers very quickly by just clicking in each frame where the tracker should be.. No dragging.
The size of the frame would be related to the size of the grid, number of frames in the X and in the Y.
I will Photoshop a quick picture of what I am thinking if you dont fully get what I am saying.
This would make fixing say 4 trackers at once very easy and efficent.

| What is this z-drop feature you talk about? I can't find anything about it in the manual. |

| See the "Adjusting while tracking" section in the "Supervised Tracking" chapter. |

Thanks. Found it. This is really a handy feature I must say. I think I should probably read the manual again to find more cool features. And, oh boy, I still have to download the latest version. |
