Hey I`m planning on buying a HD Camcorder, i want to use it for Match Moving too. So what would be the best solution?
I want to spend up to 500€.
All help would be very appreciated.

I'm gonna take a page from The Simpsons here real quick. That's like saying "I'd like some of your finest, cheapest cigars please".

Truth is, there aren't really that many decent cameras for match moving anymore that are that cheap. Most consumer level cameras nowadays use CMOS sensors, which introduces rolling shutter into the footage which is a HUGE no no for matchmoving.

What you want is a camera that uses a CCD sensor (sometimes it'll say 3CCD). This has NO rolling shutter and is perfect for matchmoving... but the image quality kind of sucks. What I've noticed is that typically CMOS camera will, for the same price as a CCD camera, have a better looking image, though with the aforementioned temporal artifacts.

I'm sorry to say it, but you're not going to get great footage either way unless you're willing to spend some more dough on a camera. You can always rent on too! Personally, I have a JVC GZ-HD7, which looks like crap, but it matchmoves well, and I'm never doing any serious work with it.

There is no easy answer to this at all. I have spent a ton of money and time trying to figure this out. Most of the popular pro-sumer cameras use CMOS. Look up Russ's rants on that subject. There is no way to get away from it. Every year there are more and more CMOS camares, and everyone is eating it up. They can all easily produce garbage if shot even a little poorly. Never expect the camera alone to give you what you need with just the auto tracker. You will need to eventually learn how to deal wit CMOS, my contact in the biz are already making affordable 3CCD funeral arrangements. The Foundry, the makers of Nuke have an un-break CMOS footage plugin that will be needed on pan shots, even then there are rules to which you must abide.

That said, suggestions for modest HD work:
