Im having a big scale issue when I bring my script into 3ds max.

everything is super tiny. Ive been trying to put manual trackers in but I'm having a problem assigning a dimension to them.

thanks

I have been placing trackers and assigning distances to them hoping the scale would translate over.

thanks

what do you mean with distances? you should only have one size constraint per coordinate system. eather you difine the scaling with a locked point (for instance using the 3* method) or you use a single distance constraint.

cheers,

Sebastian

yes they should, because you define the orign, a point on the x axis with a defined distance to the orign (-> axis control window) and one point on the ground.
you should def. check out the manual for that.

cheers

A similar problem happens when using the new function Autoplace, you may find that seems to overide any distance constraint you may have.
Check your units you are exporting in also- in your preference settings.

I ran into the same scale problem when importing data into modo. I narrowed it down to my MP4 footage having to much depth to it. I'm in a plane, flying across a desert. When I shortened the length of the footage tracked, the scale for the tracking data improved. My lens went from 238mm to 130mm. So that helped also.

Now I realize that if I use such a grand view shot again, I shouldn't be adding cars and homes and trees on my filmed terrain. I should add mega structures and arcologies instead to better match the scale of my tracking points.
