|
|
Hello, first post here so here goes:
I've shot a lens grid and successfully centred and calculated the distortion for the lens used for our show.
From the tutorial its unclear how I then save this information as a preset for use in subsequent tracks. Could someone point me to some additional tutorials or documentation to achieve this.
I did try using the preset manager, but once I start a new track my preset with the lens information I saved is no longer available.
Kind regards and many thanks |

HI graphics kid,
er, no , There's horizontal and vertical centering, distortion and cubic distortion.
It just seems that if you invest time shooting a lens grid and spending the time laying out lines to calculate the lens distortion, you'd then want to be able to apply those settings to your footage. |

You are not alone. This has never worked for me either.
It's a shame really, as it would be a real time saver. |

Just got an answer from Russ via email:
"Keep in mind that it stores presets in the current scene file, they are not permanent --- they are intended to switch back and forth between raw and lens-corrected versions of the same scene, or draft vs final. If you want to have more permanent libraries for some reason, you need to either reuse a base scene file, or use a small script to read-write the settings you are interested in --- there are some scripts like that for stereo."
It appears we were using them in a way they were not designed for. |
