Hello All,
Hoping someone can help me out here. I did an export to Carrara 5 Pro from the ' Uphill ' sequence after doing a fully automatic Track and alligning a co-ordinate system, 1st using the ' *3 ' method and using 3 trackers on the slope that looked like they defined the angle of the slope ok, on another attempt i used the manual allignment method from the web site tutorial section. In both cases i placed a Cone object in the scene about half way up the slope ( so i had a postion and a ref to allign a flat plane object against in carrara to use as a shadow catcher object for rendering etc ). While playing in Syntheyes the cone is rock solid against the background video clip and no sliding/ slipping is evident even on close inspection.
After opening carrara ( and setting the FPS to 24 to match the uphill clip before importing ) and importing the syntheyes file, i press play to preview or render the scene and the trackers and imported cone every so many frames is slipping / wiggling and i cant work out where i've gone wrong. I have done exactly the same process with the 'Flyover' sequence and some of my own DV clips and every thing looks solid as a rock. Has anyone got any ideas why i might be having this prob with this Clip ??
Any help would be greatfully appreciated

| It's been years since I used Carrara and have never used it in combination with SE, but as an educated guess I'm thinking you might be dealing with a single frame offset issue. Your quickest way to check this would be to move the camera keyframes one frame earlier or later (try both - it would depend on whether Carrara wants to start on frame 0 or 1 and how your preferences are set in SynthEyes) and see if the problem resolves itself. |

| Contact me on email on theis. Offhand it sounds an awful lot like you don't really have the same frame rates for everything. |
