Lens Workflow #2 Tutorial: Distorted Images Out
There are two main workflows for dealing with lens distortion:
- Working with, then outputing, undistorted footage
- Working with padded undistorted footage, then redistorting and compositing back to the original distorted footage
This tutorial shows the second workflow. For the first, see the first tutorial
Notes:
- Note that if you have multiple layers of CGI to composite, you will re-run the re-distorting pass separately for each element to be composited.
- Everything is done and shown real-time on an 8-core (16-thread) 2009 Mac Pro running 64-bit Windows Vista. The process is the same in OSX.
- Tutorial is 5:49 and 9 MB. You can download the mp4 by right-clicking this link: Lens2Flow.mp4
- SAME SOURCE as #1 tutorial: Source footage is 50 MB: 1920x1080 HD at 23.976 fps.
