Lens Workflow #1 Tutorial: Undistorted Images Out
There are two main workflows for dealing with lens distortion:
- Working with, then outputing, undistorted footage
- Working with padded undistorted footage, then redistorting and compositing back to the original distorted footage
This tutorial shows the first workflow. For the second, see the second tutorial
Notes:
- Everything is done and shown real-time on an 8-core (16-thread) 2009 Mac Pro running 64-bit Windows Vista. The process is the same in OSX.
- Note that in 2008.1.1024 or earlier, the image preprocessor's Delta zoom value (on the Adjust tab) must be manually reset to 1.0 after changing the images to the undistorted version.
- Tutorial is 5:16 and 11 MB. You can download the mp4 by right-clicking this link: Lens1Flow.mp4
- Source footage is 50 MB: 1920x1080 HD at 23.976 fps.
