Green Screen Tutorial

This Quicktime movie shows SynthEyes's green-screen system at work. It allows SynthEyes to track only the green screen, and ignore features on the actors moving in front of the screen, so that they don't have to be masked out from tracking. Shows typical issues and solutions handling these shots. (~10 MB, 3m30s)

NOTE: this tutorial was done before the "Coalesce Trackers" feature was introduced, which makes locating and combining trackers easier.

Notes:

  1. It does not matter if the tracking marks on the green screen are matched by the key or not.
  2. This green-screen footage is available for following along at home.
  3. The tutorial is shown at 50% actual size to save space. You can right-click the tutorial and Save As, then have Quicktime display double-size if you like.
  4. No coordinate system setup was needed or performed, to reduce the tutorial file size.
  5. Shows SynthEyes 2007 build 1002 or later.
  6. Everything is done live in real-time in one take---it's that quick!
