Coordinate Setup with Distance Constraint

Discusses the situation where you have used the Coords (Summary Panel) or *3 (Coordinate System Panel) buttons to set up a ground plane, but you want to use two other trackers to set the overall size of the scene, because you have an existing ground-truth distance between them.

Notes:

  1. You can download a Quicktime version of the tutorial (11 MB).
  2. It is always possible to re-use one of the trackers used for the ground-plane setup as part of the distance constraint. A tracker that is part of the ground plane setup should always be the target of the non-ground-plane tracker, which has the distance constraint value. You can also use any two of the ground-plane trackers for a distance constraint if you know what you are doing.
  3. The video is 3:00 and 8.4 MB long. Check out all the other tutorials and the manual too (after downloading the demo version).
  4. Tutorial captured on E6600 Core 2 Duo Windows Vista PC. Mac version is the same.
